The kitchen concept by chef Ruslan Zakirov from Saint Petersburg is Smart Comfort –  casual soul food for every day. The main principle of it is to reveal the taste of products with the help of the open fire.

«Any food should be centered around product, and we’re trying to find a thousand ways to use the open fire for it», the chef says.

Most menu items here are cooked on the open fire in the wood oven and on grill that allows to bake, dry-cure, braise, stew, smoke, fry and roast.

Baked vegetables at Ogonёk play one of the main parts becoming main courses. Every menu option is composed of not more than four ingredients, creating easy and precise taste combinations.
